Candela GentleLase Laser Head Protective Reflective Barium Powder Information

A malfunction in the laser head can quickly cause one of the components, such as the laser head rod, the flow tubes, or flash lamp to break and cause a leak. If there is a leak in the laser head, the reflective barium will become wet and thus will need to be replaced in addition to all of the broken components in the laser head. The powder will not offer the same protection if broken, so we strongly recommend you replace it, especially when repairing a laser head.
